Arts and Crafts inspired Gates

These gates were inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement as the house has various detail from the period. Hot forged and fabricated mild steel with embossed details and polished stainless steel inserts in the seed heads. There are 2 sets of automated driveway gates at the property in Edinburgh and a single pedestrian gate fitted with a soft close mechanism. Also 5 lanterns adorn the gate posts.

In 2021 these gates won the Tonypandy Cup, awarded by the Worshipfull Company of Blacksmiths. In 1998, Past Prime Warden Lt Col Delwyn Dennis, presented the Tonypandy Cup to the Company. It was given in memory of Lord Tonypandy (George Thomas, Former Speaker of the House of Commons) who was an Honorary Member of the Court of the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths. The Cup may be awarded annually for a piece which is considered to be an outstanding example of the skill of a blacksmith or blacksmiths. A special Committee is established every year to assess the nominated works. The Tonypandy Cup is regarded as the most prestigious award given by the Worshipfull Company of Blacksmiths.
